I’ve always loved the idea of a winter wedding. I love cold weather to begin with, but the idea of celebrating in a warm space, lit beautifully, while it’s cold outside, just adds that extra romantic feeling to an already romantic day. This New Year’s Eve wedding was no exception and even raised the romantic vibes as it happened to also be a holiday weekend when a major storm hit Los Angeles. If you know me, you also know I love a rainy wedding and come prepared with pretty umbrellas. This one became a really quick favorite even before I processed the images.
Planned and designed by Orange Blossom Special Events, this New Year’s Eve wedding was not only beautiful but it also went off without a hitch despite having to change plans and bring the ceremony inside. The skies parted just enough times throughout the day to get some portraits outside. And after the cermony, while the rain poured down on the coastal venue, everyone had the best time dancing long after the New Year’s Eve countdown covered the dance floor in confetti.

The Welcome Dinner
To welcome many of the guests to the wedding weekend, Vallena & John hosted a welcome dinner at a Los Angeles private country club. Vallena wore an amazing Reem Acra gown with dramatic sleeves that was the perfect dramatic and modern contrast to her more traditional lace dress for the next day.

I loved that for their New Year’s Eve wedding, the line “A New Year, A New Beginning” was used on the paper goods from the invite to the welcome sign.
